history

This red indigenous South African grape variety, a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault (Hermitage), brings to light in the cooler Walker Bay, and particularly here at Beaumont in Bot River, a characterful and fine red wine that is very much in the finesse and the red berry fruit of Pinot Noir.

Harvested from 23 to 46 year old vines, this fine, medium-bodied wine impresses with its elegance, ripe tannin structure and a bun of cherries, plums and marzipan. 18 months barrel aging in used French oak. An ideal accompaniment to poultry and game.
